Dear parents, pupils and teachers
Since mid-August, Tatjana has been cleaning and preparing all classrooms for pupils' and teachers' return. Jimmy has maintained the grounds throughout the summer months to a very high standard. This week teachers are setting up their classrooms for the new term and Cécile is busy organising class-lists, photocopying work-sheets and taking calls.
During the past few months a lot of work has been done in the Junior School, St Declan's and St James' classrooms (in the Junior School) have been refloored. Toilets and sinks have been upgraded for pupils and staff. Walls and doors have been brightened up and are ready to welcome the third stream of Junior and Senior Infants.
Many thanks to the Parents' Association for their work with the school tracksuit and school diary which have added an extra sense of identity and freshness to the school community. Jim has ensured that the broadband connection is now working throughout the campus and this will ensure good performance of our interactive whiteboards.
In the light of the H1N1 Pandemic, the Board of Management ask for your cooperation in ensuring that your children are familiar with good hand-washing and respiratory etiquette. Some links are included on the right-hand column of this page. You might print one of the posters for your own home so that children are familiar with the messages when they arrive in school.
Other resources can be found on the diocesan website.
In addition to these hand-washing and respiratory techniques, we request that all pupils have a packet of tissues. Please ensure that you have provided Cécile with your up-to-date contact details in case we need to contact you during the year.
Every good wish and blessing to pupils, teachers and staff for the coming term and school-year.
