Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a developmental condition that affects how a person communicates, interacts socially, and processes sensory information. Autism presents differently in every individual—no two people are the same.
For many families, the journey begins with noticing differences in communication, social interaction, or sensory needs.
You can pursue a diagnosis either:
Privately (e.g., Educational Psychologist, Paediatrician, or Multidisciplinary Team)
Publicly via the HSE Assessment of Need
UP TO 20 free assessments for children with autism and or ADD/ADHD will be funded by the Friends of Autism shops, which operate in Balbriggan and Skerries.
