Assistive Technology: Transforming Education
Technology has revolutionized education, providing students with disabilities the tools to overcome challenges and reach their true potential. Assistive Technology (AT) bridges the gap, offering solutions tailored to individual needs.
From simple tools like magnifying glasses for visual impairments to mind mapping apps for students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs), and advanced eye-tracking systems for mobility impairments, AT empowers learners in diverse ways.
Devices such as computers, tablets, and smartphones—along with specialized software—enable students with SpLDs to plan, organize, and access information effectively. These tools not only enhance learning but also foster independence and confidence.
Here are some of the technologies we are introducing at St. Patrick’s to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all our students. Click the links below to learn more about how these tools are transforming learning in our school.
