An Fhoireann Ghaeilge

They came along to our cóisir (party) in the hall.

These are children who have made a HUGE effort to try use more Irish in school.

☘️ This year we have started an Irish language challenge. Each week at assembly the students will learn or revise a new Irish phrase/piece of conversation. At the end of each month a boy and girl from each class will be invited to an Irish party. At the end of each term students that have made a great effort speaking Irish will be given special prizes. Last week we started with greeting each other -"Dia duit!" and "Dia is Muire duit!/"Dia is Muire duit, buíochas le Dia!". Next week we will ask and answer each other's name - "Cad is ainm duit?" "_____ is ainm dom." The following website is great to hear pronunciations: https://www.teanglann.ie/en/fuaim/. We are all very excited to take on this challenge throughout the school. It's also a great opportunity to try a cúpla focal at home!
